We recently got a chance to drive the Tata Nexon Foliage Green and here’s our review.
The first thing that strikes you about the Tata Nexon Foliage Green is its looks. The car looks really good and has an upmarket feel to it.
The build quality is also very good and the car feels solid on the road. The interiors are well appointed and look very premium. All the controls fall easily to hand and there’s a good amount of space for all passengers.
On the performance front, the Tata Nexon doesn’t disappoint either. It comes with two engine options – a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed AMT gearbox (petrol only).
We drove the petrol version and found it to be peppy and fun to drive around town. There’s ample power on tap and the engine responds well to inputs too. The AMT gearbox is also quite smooth in operation and makes city driving hassle free.
Out on the highway, the Tata Nexon continues to impress with its confident handling manners despite being a tallboy design SUV/crossover vehicle type . There’s minimal body roll when cornering at high speeds thanks to its stiff chassis construction . All in all, we were quite impressed with how capable this little SUV/crossover actually is .
In terms of safety,the Tata nexon comes loaded with features like dual front airbags , ABS(Anti lock braking system) with EBD(Electronic brakeforce distribution), seatbelt reminder for both driver & passenger , speed sensing door locks , ISOFIX child seat mounts , rear parking sensors & camera alongwith steering mounted audio controls . It also gets additional features like automatic headlamps & rain sensing wipers which are generally seen on more expensive cars .
All these factors make nexon one heck of value for money proposition as compared not just other SUVs but most of hatchbacks & sedans too .
